It’s 1962 and in the city of Baltimore young Tracy Turnblad, a big girl with big hair and an even bigger heart, has only one passion – to dance. When she wins a spot on a popular TV dance show she is transformed from outsider to teen celebrity. But can she win the love of handsome Link Larkin and defeat the evil plans of teen princess Amber Von Tussle? HAIRSPRAY is a classic fairy tale told with humor and heart amid the exciting rhythms of 60’s rock and roll and featuring some of the most high-energy, spectacular dancing you’ll ever see on the stage. September 18, 2010  ―  Elizabeth Fixmer Author Signing

The Velveteen Rabbit Bookshop and Guest House is delighted to announce an author signing with Fort Atkinson author Elizabeth Fixmer!

Elizabeth will be signing her debut novel, "Saint Training," from 10am-noon, with a book reading and Q&A session at 10am. The heroine of "Saint Training," eleven-year-old Mary Clare O'Brian, thinks that her bargain with God--to become a saint if He'll make her family happy--will result in a miracle. But with a war in Vietnam, race riots in the city, the Catholic Church turning cartwheels, and too much responsibility at home, miracles seem to be in short supply. Even on a good hair day.

Reserve your copies in store or online at velveteenrabbitbookshop.com. Even if you can't attend the signing, we can reserve signed--even personalized--copies for you!
