May 25-26, 2013 – Fort Koshkonong Rendezvous: Olde Ways

RendezvousLooking for an affordable Memorial Day Attraction? Visit the Fort Koshkonong Rendezvous in Rock River Park on Saturday, May 25 from 9am to 5pm & Sunday, May 26 from 9am to 4pm.

The 20th Annual Fort Koshkonong Rendezvous allows visitors to step back in time and see how life was in the 1840s. Witness living history and eat period food. The Fort Koshkonong Rendezvous is $4 per adult and $2 per child ages 5 to 12.  Free parking is available.

This year’s theme is “Olde Ways” and will include demonstrations and exhibitions of how tasks were accomplished the “old way.”  Activities will include black powder shooting, contests, children’s interactive old-time chores, free horse-drawn carriage rides, and much more.

The gates of Ripley Park will open at 9am on Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend, marking yet another wonderful summer in Cambridge, Wis. Located on the west shores of Lake Ripley, Ripley Park is an 18 acre park privately owned by the Cambridge Foundation and managed by the Cambridge Community Activities Program. Ripley Park has something for everyone – swimming, basketball, disc golf course, volleyball, tennis and more!

Cambridge – Memorial Day starts with the annual Firemen’s all-you-can-eat breakfast at the Fire Station, with the annual parade down Main Street at 10:30am followed by a Memorial service downtown in Veteran’s Park after the parade, and back to the Fire Station for the continuing French Toast & Eggs breakfast.
