Dip for Dozer into Lake Ripley!

Dip for Dozer into Lake Ripley!

Splashing into Lake Ripley is normally a summertime activity except for the second weekend in February which means it’s the annual Dip for Dozer plunge! Hundreds gather at Lake Ripley Park to honor a young athlete who was lost so very young.  Number 52 Dustin “Dozer” Zuelsdorf was a talented high school football star and leader.  Each year, his family, friends and community honor his memory with this annual fundraiser which benefits the Dozer 52 Football Scholarship fund. Thanks to the Dip, $183,000 has been awarded to 74 CHS students in the last 17 years.

17 YEARS OF FUN!

Dustin’s mother, Kim Zuelsdorf explains, “This year is the 17th Dip for Dozer. Last year’s virtual event featured some very creative “dip” videos. Dippers had a lot of fun with their interpretation of dipping, from cookies in hot chocolate to making snow angels. The Dip is in person this year but we encourage dippers to send us a video if they won’t be able to take the plunge.

DOCUMENTARY TELLS THE STORY:

Emma Siewert, producer/director of The Perfect Season documentary about the Dip, garnered several awards, including: Best Documentary 2020 Wildwood Film Festival, Audience Choice Award 2020 Green Bay Film Festival, Official Selection 2019 Wisconsin Film Festival.
