A new look to Halloween in Watertown

Halloween will look a little different in Watertown this October.  While the city is not hosting an official Trick-or-Treating event this year, many other family adventures have been created to enjoy safely in 2020!

Pumpkin Palooza has been a family favorite for several years, and group organizers have made the necessary adjustments to assure safe practices and a whole lot of fun.

Pumpkin Palooza Schedule of Events in Downtown Watertown on October 31st:

  • 10am-8pm, Parade of Pumpkins. Take a stroll downtown, enjoying the pumpkin displays in the storefronts. Vote for your favorite! Ballots are available at the Watertown Area Chamber of Commerce, 519 E Main Street.
  • 10am-noon, Halloween Rock Hunt. Watertown’s talented art community has painted (and hidden) Halloween-themed rocks throughout the downtown. Plan a stop at Sharp Corner Park for some candy while supplies last!
  • Light the Library. Locals will “check out” a pumpkin from the Watertown Public Library, to be carved and returned for a grand lighting at dark.
  • October 23-October 31, Halloween Hunt in the Parks. Search Watertown city parks for Halloween images and take photos of them as part of an epic scavenger hunt. Collect them all and win a prize.  Participate any time, dawn until dusk, between Friday 10/23 and Saturday 10/31.  BONUS: Get into the Halloween spirit by wearing your costume while on the hunt and take a photo. Costumes will be judged after the event and the best will be awarded a prize. Visit the Park & Rec page to register.
