Reel’ Em In: A Weekend of Outdoor Thrills and Excitement

 The countdown has begun for the winter weekend of all outdoorsman’s dreams – ice fishing tournaments, coyote hunts, meat raffles, gun raffles, and more! This weekend will be filled with adventure, camaraderie, and the thrill of the great outdoors in Fort Atkinson and on Lake Koshkonong.

Come to town on Friday for an evening of celebrations as we set the stage for an unforgettable weekend. Find your favorite local spot for a fish fry, steak dinner, or some drinks and get ready. With plenty of hotels in Fort Atkinson and Jefferson County, you’ll be sure to get a good night’s rest.

The festivities will all officially kick off on Saturday morning, February 3^rd. Let’s set the stage for the events happening and give you the line-up: BHA North Country Icebreaker 2024, 4^th Annual Women’s Ice Fishing Event, 6^th Annual Coyote Hunt Fundraiser, and local meat raffles.

BHA North County Icebreaker 2024

Break out the long underwear and join Wisconsin BHA for their 2^nd Annual North Country Icebreaker. This year, they are drilling holes and setting up shacks at none other than Koshkonong Mounds Country Club on Lake Koshkonong in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. It is the biggest celebration of public lands and waters in the county on ICE! The event will include a day on the ice catching fish, demonstrations from industry professionals, ice fishing with BHA Chapter Leaders and members and will cap off with an evening sharing great food, raffles, and prizes.

Tickets for this event include:

• Fishing only
• Full day ticket that includes fishing, seminars, and the banquet
• Family ticket to bring your whole crew for all events
• Table ticket for 8 to enjoy the full day plus a swag bag for everyone in the group

4^th Annual Women’s Ice Fishing Event

 We are right around the corner from showtime! As the crisp winter air envelopes us, we invite all the adventurous women out there to join Duner’s Blackhawk Club for a full day of camaraderie, skill-building, and the sheer joy of conquering the fish of Lake Koshkonong. This event will be one for the books as the ladies take on Lake Koshkonong and compete for prizes of all kinds, including tackle, tip-ups, tip-downs, gift cards, salon and spa gifts, swag, and much more! No need to pre-register but make sure you add February 3^rd to your calendar. Registration starts at 8:00am and you can hit the ice at 9:00am. Duner’s will have hourly prize drawings, a meat raffle, and baskets to win throughout the day on Saturday. Guys are welcome AND encouraged to come and cheer on the ladies and participate in the raffles!

6^th Annual Coyote Hunt Fundraiser

 Hunters, gear up and embark on a thrilling pursuit. Navigate the Fort Atkinson area and beyond to showcase your skills and experience the adrenaline rush of the chase. The 6^th Annual Coyote Hunt will take place on Saturday, February 3^rd, sponsored by the Fort Atkinson Coyote Hunters and hosted by Sunset Bar & Grill for the after party. The event is a benefit for Tyler Kangas and family with all proceeds benefiting them. All hunters are welcome, team or individual. Check-in is at 4:00pm and all coyotes must be harvested on the same day with prizes given for heaviest and lightest – 100% payback. The benefit starts at 3:00pm where there will be gun raffles, basket raffles, 50/50 raffles, and live music from Tim O’Grady starting at 7:00pm.
