Urban’s Place
221 South Main Street
Jefferson, WI 53549

The Review Crew is back together once again.  We decided to review restaurants serving breakfast this round, having reviewed several restaurants serving fish fry and pizza, as well as good old Wisconsin Supper Clubs.

For our first breakfast outing we met in Jefferson at Urban’s, downtown on South  Main Street.  Urban’s is a family restaurant with booths, tables, or a counter for seating choices.  This is a Packers fan restaurant filled with Packers memorabilia and green and gold décor.

As we entered, we were greeted by five members of the Bare family from Jefferson  having breakfast, a Saturday morning ritual for them.  They meet every Saturday morning to keep in touch with the family and enjoy each other’s company.  Francis, the waitress, hardly needs to ask what they will have for breakfast; she knows what they want.  They just nod, indicating the usual.

Francis, the only waitress at the time, seated the six of us at a round table and took our drink orders while we looked at the menu. The coffee was good and hot and refilled often.  We ordered a skillet, French toast, an omelette with hash browns, eggs with hollandaise sauce on the side and English Muffin, Eggs Benedict, and eggs, sausage, and potatoes.  Our breakfast was served quickly and all were hot and very satisfying.

It was quiet when we arrived at 7:30am.  An hour later, several more customers started coming in for breakfast.  Urban’s was comfortable and friendly with interesting Packers items to look at.  It was reasonably priced and we would certainly go there again for a hearty breakfast.
