Watertown Winter Wonderland – A Holiday Movie Sequel
Last year I came to the conclusion that Watertown would make an excellent setting for the popular holiday movies that play at this time of year. In my December 2020 blog post I scripted the ultimate Watertown love story, full of holiday magic. My imagination told me that the movie was a hit, which means SEQUEL!
Our 2020 couple already rode off into the Watertown sunset, so we’re welcoming a new love story in 2021.
Introducing a Small Town
Our lead-role has been living big-city life, and simply needs to escape for some small-town R&R. She does some online searching and finds a vast list of holiday events taking place in Watertown, WI. It’s exactly what she needs. She finds a cute B&B, and books her trip.
A Charming Downtown
Upon arriving, our lady wants to take in some one-of-a-kind shopping in our downtown. She picks up her visitor guide and sees there are 24 small businesses to visit. She sets out with confidence that her Christmas shopping list will soon be complete! After hours of shopping, our leading lady notices a “Help Wanted” poster in the window of a boutique. Her heart tells her to take the job!
A Contest
Shortly after she takes this seasonal position, her boss informs her that there is a window decorating contest taking place in the city, and she was tasked with decorating this year’s window. The competition is steep for Watertown Window Wonderland, and she wanted their window to be perfect. She visited CW Christmas Trees for a natural tree, boughs, and wreaths. She visited Far Horizons Imports to find ornaments that could dangle from the ceiling, and she visited General Rental for the perfect lighting to set the scene. It was perfection!
The Judge
Our leading man just so happened to be the judge of the contest. He made several tours of the windows, and always found a reason to spend a little extra time in the store of our leading lady. They had chance meetings throughout the holiday season, bumping into each other at our coffee shops, at the holiday tree lighting, and at the Christmas Parade of Lights.
The Winner
Our judge had fallen for our leading lady, and felt he could no longer judge the contest fairly. He rearranged the contest so that the public would decide the winners. Hundreds of votes were cast and our leading lady’s store won! Small-town life had grown on her, and she had made up her mind to stay.
A Grand Party
When our leading man found out our leading lady would be staying, he made plans to sweep her off her feet at the Watertown New Year’s Eve Party. He asked her to go as his date, surprised her with a beautiful gown from Sandra D’s Bridal Boutique, jewelry from Bradow Jewelers, flowers from Draeger’s Floral, and a full makeup and hair experience at Domani Salon and Spa.
They Lived Happily Ever After
Our beautiful couple danced the night away, and declared their love over a champagne toast and balloon drop at midnight. It probably goes without saying, but they all lived happily ever after!
Lucky for you, the script has been written, but we’re looking for the cast. Come and be a star in our Watertown holiday movie! For more information on holiday shopping and activities, follow us on Facebook, Instagram, or visit us on our website.
