September 17, 2016 – Cambridge Fun Run & Family Health & Wellness Expo

Wellness ExpoCAP is hosting the 9th annual Fun Run and Family Health & Wellness Expo on Saturday from  10:00am to 1pm at downtown West Side Park.  Adults, children, and families are encouraged to participate in either the 1 mile or 5 K Fun Run/Walk.

Afterwards, you can browse the Family Health & Wellness Expo booths providing information on health and wellness service providers available in Cambridge and the surrounding areas. Gain expert advice from area health and wellness practitioners and services in the fields of chiropractic, dental, recreation, medical, assisted living, spa & salon, massage, and much more. Kids activities will be available throughout the day.

Cambridge Fall FestFall in downtown Cambridge is spectacular and offers fun activities for the whole family.  Enjoy Cambridge Fall Fest on Saturday from 10 am to 3 pm in downtown Veteran’s Park, 100 E. Main St. with tractor hayrides, scarecrow building, Chain saw artist live demo, live music,  a pie contest and auction benefitting the Cambridge Food Pantry,  bee keeping demo, face painting, and the FFA farm animal petting zoo.   The Cambridge Community Activities Program will also be conducting its annual Fun Run and Family Wellness Fair in the morning at downtown West Side Park as well.

Rowe Pottery Pie Baking Contest:  Annual Fall Fest Pie Baking Contest,  Put your favorite fall pie recipe to the test. Purchase a Rowe Pottery Pie Plate for $29.99 for your Pie Contest Pie, You will receive a 2nd Pie Plate for Free, it’s your’s to keep. Bake your pie in the Rowe Pie Plate and submit it the morning of Fall Fest, Preregister at Rowe Pottery 217 W Main Street by Friday Sept 18th.   After the winner is determined the pies are auctioned off for Charity, last years winning pie baked in a Rowe Pie Plate went for over $40.  Come along for the fun!

Although Rowe Pottery pie dishes auctioned off will raise more $ for the Food Pantry, NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER THE PIE CONTEST.  You can also bring your baked goods in a disposable pie dish to Veteran’s Park before 1pm to enter.

OktoberfestThis is a fundraiser Bike Ride Event, hosted by the Tyranena Brewing Company. For more information go to  There is a limit on participants, and this ride does fill up early.

This charity fun ride has multiple routes passing through the beautiful Jefferson County area, beginning and ending at Tyranena Brewing Company in Lake Mills. SAG support and rest areas with snacks, restrooms and refreshments also available.

September 21, 2016 – 2016 World Music Festival

World Music FestivalUshering the start of the 2016-2017 seasons at the Young Auditorium, the World Music Festival is a place to celebrate cultures from all over the world. The event is taking place in the Young Auditorium Courtyard and Theatre and is FREE, but tickets are required. Starting at 3:00pm with Solo & Indre, hear the sounds of Senegalese and Lithuanian folk melodies merge with spontaneous improvisations to create a mesmerizing flow of acoustic music. At 4:30pm hear Germán López with his blend of ancient traditions of the Canary Islands and musical virtuosity. At 6:00pm hear the female trio Fémina, who blend vocals, guitar, ronroco, and percussion into a mix of Latin genres such as cumbia, candombe, rumba, boleros, with international rhythms alike such as reggae and funk. Finally, at 7:30 see and hear Maya Kamaty and Herencia de Timbiquí, who combine sounds from Latin America and Africa with the sounds of rock, jazz and funk.
