A Rustic Wedding at Sugar Island Barn in Watertown

The Engagement

Angela, who is from Oak Creek, and Ryan, who is from Menomonee Falls, met through mutual friends. Ryan proposed to Angela at their home, where the two began their lives together. Angela came home from work one day to find Ryan down on one knee alongside their son.

The Dress

Angela found her dream wedding gown at Miss Ruby Bridal Boutique in Milwaukee.

The Ceremony

Angela and Ryan had their rustic, romantic wedding at Sugar Island Barn in Watertown. Angela’s favorite part of the ceremony was seeing the look on Ryan’s face when he first saw her walking down the aisle.

For the ceremony, the couple had signs made for two very special people who couldn’t be with them that day, Angela’s brother Robert and Ryan’s grandpa Richard. The signs read, “If heaven wasn’t so far away, I know you would be here.” When Angela’s brother passed, she was given a pendant with his fingerprint on it, which she carried around her bouquet to signify her brother walking with her down the aisle.

The Photos

Following the ceremony, Allysha Noelle Photography snapped photos of the couple and their party on the property of Sugar Island Barn, which boasts an absolutely stunning landscape.

The Reception

The newlyweds’ reception was also held at Sugar Island Barn. The venue was decorated beautifully, with linens provided by General Party Rental in Watertown.

The Food and Drinks

Ryan and Angela wanted to keep their wedding food simple yet fun, so they treated their guests to a taco and salad bar from Moe’s Southwest Grill, plus a dessert bar from Jen’s Sweet Treats in Cudahy filled with cake pops, chocolate-covered Oreos and pretzels, cupcakes, and of course, the wedding cake. For a late-night snack, they ordered pizzas from a local restaurant.

The Couple’s Favorite Moments

Angela’s favorite moment was watching Ryan have the time of his life at the reception. “It was a lot of fun to watch the excitement and emotions he went through from the ceremony to the moment we had our last dance together,” she says.
