Busy Barns Adventure Farm hosts Enjoy Jefferson County Board for monthly meeting

Our organization is made up of tourism and hospitality professionals from around the county and beyond, working together to market, brand, and promote the entire county as a tourism destination. We meet monthly, usually at Fair Park in Jefferson. As you can imagine, the folks at Fair Park have their hands full currently, since the county fair kicked off today! So, yesterday, we met at Busy Barns Adventure Farm & The Gathering Barn at Busy Barns Adventure Farm instead.

Owner, Afton Krysiak, showed us all around after our meeting wrapped up. Since Busy Barns is both an outdoor fun park and wedding venue, we got a tour of the many acres of places to get married, take photos, and have fun. And we got to see and pet all kinds of animals! (Kittens, bunnies, baby goats, and many more!)

Afton shared the story of how she and her husband were married at The Gathering Barn, then returned years later with their small children. After talking with previous owners, the Telfers, who were planning to retire, Afton and her husband decided they would probably never get another opportunity quite like this one, so they bought the farm. Now they’re busy learning the ins and outs of both farm life and running a hospitality business.

Thanks, Afton, for having us! We had a great time!
