1.  Mullens Dairy Bar (Watertown)

Mullen’s Dairy Bar has been making homemade ice cream since 1932. Once a local secret, Mullen’s Dairy Bar ice cream can now be found in retail locations across Wisconsin. Stop by the ice cream shop for a sundae, root beer float, or an old-fashioned ice cream soda!

2.  Lindt Chocolate (Johnson Creek)

Located at the Johnson Creek Outlet Mall, this Lindt Chocolate Shop is the only one in the entire state. The store features an array of delicious Lindt Chocolate offerings, including an extraordinary assortment of over 20 LINDOR Truffle recipes, seasonal varieties, create-your-own gifts, chocolate bars, exclusive European Specialties and boxed chocolates. The baristas will even melt your favorite truffle flavor into your to-go cup of coffee.

3.  SweetSpot Bakehouse (Whitewater)

The SweetSpot Bakehouse bakes all of the delicious pies, pastries, cakes, and cupcakes available for sale at both SweetSpot locations in Whitewater. The SweetSpot Bakehouse also creates seasonal flavors like Peppermint Hot Chocolate, Maple Bacon, Lemon Meringue Pie, Strawberry Fresca, and more.

4.  Frostie Freeze (Fort Atkinson)

Only open March through September, this locally owned parlor specializes in soft-serve ice cream sold through a convenient walk-up and drive-thru window. With menu items including rainbow cones, banana splits, and even chocolate-covered frozen bananas, this is the perfect family-friendly activity during warm Wisconsin summers.

5.  James J Chocolate Shop Central (Lake Mills)

Calling all choco-holics! Since 1988, James Jarnigo has been building a tradition of fine candies and chocolates. All products are made on the premise from scratch, including chocolate caramels, chocolate-covered fruits, almond butter toffee, old-fashioned hard candy, and gummi bears.

Katie Carey is a member of the Jefferson County Area Tourism Council and the Tourism Manager at the Fort Atkinson Chamber of Commerce. She's focused a lot of her efforts on building the JCATC's Instagram page and it shows! The page has grown immensely since she's taken it over.  You'll also find a lot of her touches on the group's new wedding initiative as we explore ways of expanding the tourism to Jefferson County.
