Jefferson County Parks Honors Director Nehmer with a Recognition Bench
Joe Nehmer is someone who doesn’t need a lot of pomp and circumstance, even for the 40 years of service he provided to the Jefferson County Parks Department. Unfortunately, a big send-off wasn’t in the picture when he retired this past year.
Joe is the long-time Jefferson County Parks Director who worked tirelessly to make the parks the best they could be. Joe understands the value in promoting our amazing park system and was involved with the Jefferson County Tourism Council for many years.
A recognition bench was recently placed along the Glacial River Trail north of Fort Atkinson recognizing Joe for his years of service with Jefferson County. The bench was donated by Joe’s friends and family in recognition of all the parks and trails that were built under his leadership and guidance over his 40+ year tenure. We wish Joe well in retirement and we thank him again for all he has done for Jefferson County.
Enjoy a walk or run on the Glacial River Trail and take a break on Joe’s bench. He’d be happy you stayed a while!
