Local Tourism Grants in Jefferson County

Many communities in Jefferson County have a Tourism Commission. Those tourism commissions are run off room tax dollars, which are collected any time a hotel room is booked. A portion of room tax dollars are sent to the local tourism commission and are used to market that community and attract visitors.
Jefferson:
- Amount: Up to $1,000
- Deadline to Apply: Second Tuesday of each month
- Award Parameters: Event must take place within the city of Jefferson. Any awarded funds must be used to increase tourism and generate overnight stays.

Johnson Creek:
- Amount: Varies
- Deadline to Apply: The first Monday in February, May, August, and October

Watertown:
- Amount: Up to $1,000
- Deadline to Apply: Grant applications are accepted at any time, and will be considered monthly at the Tourism Commission meetings
- Award Parameters: Grants will be awarded to events/amenities that increase overnight stays, with a preference given to events/amenities that take place during October-May.

Whitewater:
- Amount: 1st year of event up to $1000, 2nd year of event up to $750, 3rd year of event up to $500, 4th year of event up to $250
