Summer is Unique in Johnson Creek

Summer is Unique in Johnson Creek

Wisconsin summers are the best! While I may be sincerely biased, I would hold that statement up against any rivals. Seriously! Wisconsinites have always had that friendly, Midwestern vibe, but we are also so fortunate to live in a state so rich in natural wonders and adventures.

And this is certainly true for the people and events in Jefferson County and Johnson Creek. This summer, Johnson Creek is host to several community and vendor events, including recently announcing Fireworks at Centennial Park to kick off the Independence Day Holiday Weekend on Friday, July 2, at dusk. Be sure to check out all the July 4th Fireworks and events on the Enjoy Jefferson County calendar of events. Lot’s of options for holiday fun in Jefferson County!

Johnson Creek Public Library Sign

The sense of community continues when kids of all ages may sign up for the Johnson Creek Library’s Summer Reading Program thru July 31. Plus the Friends of the Johnson Creek Library are hosting a book sale at the Johnson Creek Community Center to raise funds for the new Dolly Parton Imagination Library program on August 21.

And the weekend of August 20-21 is a big one in Johnson Creek as they host their summer Rummage-A-Rama across the Village and invite treasure seekers to check out their multiple vendors. Check out the Johnson Creek Tourism calendar for more information as vendors will be continually added prior to the event.

The Village of Johnson Creek isn’t alone with organizers looking to host events this summer. Many communities in Jefferson County are experiencing an influx of events after a year where events were called off due to the pandemic. While we are excited to share more events may be on the way, we aren’t quite ready to share them all as organizers are continuing to plan. But we do encourage you to visit both the Enjoy Jefferson County calendar of events and the Johnson Creek Tourism calendar to find more events on the horizon and to make this a summer as unique as you are.

Katie was the Tourism & Communications Director for the Village of Johnson Creek and served as the President of the Jefferson County Tourism Council. She now calls the UW-Madison’s Global Health Institute home continuing a great public relations and marketing career that includes some of Milwaukee and Northern California's most sought after tourism attractions such as the Milwaukee Brewers, Milwaukee Public Museum, Milwaukee Betty Brinn Children's Museum, Milwaukee Chamber Theater, and the Sonoma County Museum. Her agency work also afforded her the opportunity to work with an array of clients including McDonald's, Coca-Cola, Gitano Jeanswear's sponsorship of Shania Twain's Tour, and many more. She is also an author, having penned the children's book, Balthazar the Pink, with her two sons.
