A Rustic-Chic Wedding at Milford Hills in Johnson Creek

How They Met

Mike and Tammy met in college while attending the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

The Engagement

Mike proposed to Tammy during a trip to Arizona. They took a helicopter ride, and the pilot knew Mike’s plan before taking off. At one point, the helicopter landed so Tammy and Mike could bask in the gorgeous view. The pilot led the couple to a scenic lookout and offered to take their photo. Mike got down on one knee as the pilot captured the special moment on camera. Upon their return, all the workers at the airport cheered for the newly engaged couple.

The Dress

Tammy found her dream wedding gown at Savvy Bride in Brookfield.

The Ceremony and Reception

Tammy and Mike’s rustic-themed ceremony and reception were both held at Milford Hills, a well-known hunt club in Johnson Creek. The humble yet elegant venue sits on land hundreds of acres of picturesque countryside in the heart of Jefferson County.

The ceremony was non-religious but featured various Jewish traditions such as the breaking of a glass and a horah dance. For the unity ceremony, the couple shared a drink of pear vodka and lemonade.

The Cakes

For dessert, the bride and groom indulged in a small cake from Sweet Perfections in Waukesha. Guests enjoyed bite-sized cakes from Nothing Bundt Cakes.

The Couple’s Favorite Moments

Before the ceremony, Mike and Tammy did a first look. It was a special time just for just the two of them before they tied the knot. Tammy vividly remembers seeing Mike’s face when he turned around and saw her in her gown.

Although a rainstorm delayed the ceremony by 45 minutes, there was a room inside the venue that cast the most amazing lighting. They took advantage of the unique gleam and were able to capture gorgeous photos indoors before the ceremony despite the rain.
