Did you know, when you’re visiting this website, reading this blog, visiting the Enjoy Jefferson County social media pages, spotting Jefferson County tourism volunteers at wedding fairs and other events, or viewing the Official Jefferson County Guide, you’re seeing the efforts of tourism and marketing professionals and other community members from around Jefferson County?

In case you’ve ever wondered, “Who handles that ‘Enjoy Jefferson County’ stuff? What all do they do, and how can I get involved with it too?” here are all the behind-the-scenes details:

The Official Jefferson County Guide, the website enjoyjeffersoncounty.com, and all the other marketing initiatives mentioned above, are the results of efforts from a group of folks who make up the Jefferson County Area Tourism Council (JCATC). These people, mainly volunteers, meet regularly and work hard to strengthen and promote Jefferson County as a great place to visit. (Learn more about them here.)

While most of JCATC’s volunteers are representatives of chambers of commerce or other community organizations, anyone and everyone in the county is welcome to take part.

JCATC has a variety of subcommittees focused on different tourism and marketing initiatives. Whether you’re interested in helping to establish Jefferson County as a great wedding and event destination, spreading the word about our wonderful outdoor and natural resources, writing blog articles, helping us secure grants and funding for bigger projects, or other efforts, we welcome your support. You do not need to be a member of any chamber of commerce, nor do you need to be a paid advertiser in our guide. You don’t need to be any kind of “expert” to participate in making Jefferson County an even greater place to visit and live.
