Hannah and Kurt Kleven chose a snowflake pattern for their barn quilt to depict their Norwegian ancestry. Hannah prefers things that are basic so she chose a deep red for their quilt with a white background to compliment their gray barn. Their barn is in the city of Jefferson which is somewhat unusual. Hannah designed and painted the barn quilt herself. The Kleven’s property, purchased in 2017, dates back to the early 1800’s. The former owners were approached by Old World Wisconsin to donate the barn because it was so unique. About 35 years ago the barn was moved 10 inches off its foundation during a tornado. Luckily it was able to be moved back to its original position. The barn today is used for a garage/race shop.
